Backflow Prevention
A backflow prevention device is a device that allows water to flow in one direction, but never in the opposite direction. It is used to protect potable (drinking) water supplies from contamination or pollution due to backflow situations.
Test Annually
The backflow prevention device is the property of the customer (home or building owner). The City of Selmer requires all backflow prevention devices in SUD water system to be tested annually by a Tennessee State Certified Backflow Prevention Tester.
